Dr. Sanghvi is a Professor and Vice Chair for Business Development in the Division of Radiation Oncology. He oversees all the business relationships including affiliations in the Department. Within the department, he is the Service Chief for Hematologic Malignancies as well as the Associate Program Director of the Radiation Oncology Residency Program. He serves on the Moores Cancer Clinical leadership team as the Clinical Director of Radiation Oncology.​

Dr. Sanghvi is a dedicated clinician-educator who has served in a variety of clinical and educational roles within the department and in the School of Medicine. His clinical practice focuses on the treatment of hematologic, head & neck and cutaneous malignancies as well as benign CNS tumors. His academic and research interests involve creating multi-disciplinary prehabilitation and rehabilitation for HN cancer patients, use of brachytherapy in HN & cutaneous malignancies as well as incorporating novel therapeutic paradigms in cutaneous and hematologic malignancies. He practices at both our La Jolla Facility and the Proton Center. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor multiple times by the San Diego Magazine.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Sanghvi is deeply engaged in education and service. He is the chair of the UCSD SOM Executive Recruitment and Admissions Committee and oversees medical school admissions. He is also the inaugural Director of Learning Environment for the School of Medicine. He serves on the Committee for Educational Policy. He is a faculty advisor for UCSD’s Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program which is geared toward preparing URiM and 1st generation students for a career in medicine. He also serves as the UCSD representative on AAMC Council of Faculty and Academic Societies.

He is a written and oral boards examiner for the American Board of Radiology (ABR) Lymphoma/Leukemia Committee. He has served as the Scientific Committee Chair for the Skin Track for multiple annual American Brachytherapy Society (ABS) meetings as well as on the Scientific Planning committee for multiple annual American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) meetings. He is the Scholarship Chair for ACRO.​
