The creation of an overarching multidisciplinary Center for Type 1 Diabetes Research (T1DRC) will provide the optimal environment to bolster type 1 research in both adults and children, furthering a comprehensive approach in advancing our knowledge in areas such as stem cell biology, beta cell biology, immunology, and genetics and their relationship to type 1 diabetes.
In an effort to promote discovery and expand our collaborative reach, we’ve renamed and are in the process of restructuring our
Pediatric Diabetes Research Center (PDRC) at UC San Diego Health. The PDRC is already a leader in the fight against Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM), comprised of a unique blend of top-ranked pediatricians, research scientists, world-class laboratories and innovative therapies, all working to end this disease.
