Dr. Hiromi I. Wettersten, DVM, PhD, MPVM is an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology at UC San Diego. She is a member of Moores Cancer Center and San Diego Digestive Disease Research Center.
Our group explores new therapeutic approaches to stop cancer progression using animal models. We are particularly interested in understanding and targeting communication between cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment.
Our lab is located in the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine taking leveraging the surrounding research community including UC San Diego campus, Salk Institute, Scripps, and Sanford Burnham Prebys.
