Cell Therapy Laboratory Internship Program

The UCSD Advanced Cell Therapy Laboratory (ACTL) is a cell manufacturing facility that produces new cell therapies manufactured under current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations suitable for clinical trials.

Cell products manufactured by ACTL include diverse immune cells typically used for cancer treatment, as well as non-immune cells such as neuronal cells used for tissue repair. The UCSD ACTL has initiated a new internship program to introduce interns to different aspects of clinical cell manufacturing.

Interns will rotate through different areas of ACTL work such as quality management, cell manufacturing, process development, and business contracting.

Interns will also spend approximately one month at 3-4 regional businesses involved in cell therapy, biomanufacturing or related work.

Interns will then complete a project in an area of interest during the second half of their internship.

This internship is most suitable for interns who may have an interest in biomanufacturing and clinical cell therapies.
