Volunteer Opportunities

Our division offers research assistant and/or associate volunteer opportunities in a range of neonatal/perinatal research areas. As a research volunteer, you will have the chance to work within the division of neonatology with some of the leading research clinicians in their field of interest and be a part of innovative and progressive research for high risk infants.

Research locations include UCSD Medical Center, Rady Children's Hospital, and Rady NICU satellite locations at Palomar Medical Center, Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, Rancho Springs Medical Center, and Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

As a neonatology research volunteer, your responsibilities may include performing data entry, literature review, sample processing, and regulatory documentation. Additional responsibilities may be possible with training and will vary based on prior experience and/or dedicated time availability. Potential volunteers must be undergraduate or graduate students with concentration in life sciences, nursing, biomedical research, or related area of study and must be 18 or older.

We actively have several studies underway within the division, including chart review studies, survey studies, and intervention studies. If you are interested in volunteering within our division, please send an email to NICUStudies@health.ucsd.edu.
