Patel Lab

Dr. Sandip Patel's research focuses on computational immunopathology methods to integrate spatial context into a better understanding of the tumor immune microenvironment. Human and murine tumor samples are analyzed in our lab with the NanoString GeoMX DSP Spatial Profiling Microscope and nCounter Max systems, and high dimensional data is analyzed in conjunction with clinical factors to elucidate the role of the stromal and immune contexture on anti-tumor responses. Spatial proteomics, transcriptomics, and genomics are key in our analyses to elucidate the spatial central dogma of cancer biology. Members of our lab apply computational skills in R and Python with a focus on deep learning of spatial information with advanced statistical methods and computer vision. We collaborate closely with researchers in pathology, computer science, immunology, and cancer biology.
