Shreya Kanodia, PhD is a senior administrator and cell biologist who has worked in oncology since 1999. Trained as a tumor immunologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the University of Southern California, she has examined T cell avidity to self-antigens to understand how vaccine dose affects the T cell repertoire and elucidate the reasons for limited efficacy of tumor vaccines.
Prior to joining Moores Cancer Center at the University of California San Diego, Shreya served as an Executive Director in the Oncology Service Line at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (CSMC) in Los Angeles, CA. She was the Associate Director for Administration in the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute at CSMC responsible for overseeing grant development, research administration and research operations including finance, human resources and facilities, and strategic/program planning to achieve National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation. She also held academic appointments as an Assistant Professor and Director of Grants Management in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at CSMC; and has been funded by grants from the Tower Cancer Research Foundation, the Department of Defense and the NCI. At the NCI-designated University of Hawaii Cancer Center in Honolulu, HI, Shreya served as the interim Chief Administrative Officer/Associate Director for Administration and worked with the Director to renew NCI designation for the center.
Prior to a career in research administration, she established the United States operations of Advanced Microdevices Pvt Ltd, a privately owned multinational corporation. She also co-founded Advanced Bioscience Technologies LLC and functioned as the Chief Financial Officer. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biochemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in West Bengal, India and a Ph.D. in Immunology/Cancer Biology from the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
