The UC San Diego office of Graduate Medical Education and EDI committee will be hosting a Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI)
virtual open house for students and residents applying to UCSD training programs. The virtual open house will feature a formal overview of the efforts and activities taking place across UC San Diego to promote JEDI – provided by a panel of informed UCSD representatives.
We hope to be meeting all of you in the coming months to show you why we love our program.
Our primary clinical site is at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego, which is the only hospital in the San Diego area dedicated exclusively to pediatric healthcare. This gives us the unique opportunity to be exposed to a tremendous variety of pediatric diagnoses. While working at Rady Children’s Hospital, our residents will become well-versed in both “bread and butter pediatrics” as well as complex tertiary medical care. We also have the opportunity to take care of a culturally-diverse patient population, including patients from Mexico and refugee populations. We are confident that by the completion of your training at UCSD and Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego you will feel that you can approach your clinical endeavors with expertise, compassion, and innovative thinking.
We highly value our residents. While residency can be challenging, we are thrilled to experience it all with the support of our incredible co-residents. The relationships we form here at UCSD as co-learners, co-teachers, and friends are one of the most valuable aspects of our pediatric training.
